I am intrigued by the interplay of human memory and land form. I like using collage because it allows me to capture these perceptions of landscape. The shapes I cut reflect the overall form of the land. Each piece provides fragments of detail that get embedded in human memory as the eye skims over the landscape. When viewed as a whole, the eye tries to make sense of these different images and comes up with what it wants to see/what it thinks it remembers from landscapes past.

I have always dabbled in photography, but until recently have only used it to provide a 'backdrop' and documentation for my paintings. Recently, I have met photographers who have inspired me to look at this as yet another way to express memory and visual fragmentation.

Estoy intrigado por la interaccion de la memoria humana y la forma de la tierra. Me gusta utilizar el metodo de collage porque me permite captar estas percepciones del paisaje. Las formas corte reflejan la forma global de la tierra.

Cada pieza ofrece fragmentos de detalle que se incrustan en la memoria humana como la roza los ojos sobre el paisaje. Cuando se ve en su conjunto, el ojo intenta dar sentido a estas imágenes diferentes de esta realidad con lo que quiere ver / lo que cree que recuerda de paisajes del pasado.

Siempre he incursionado en la fotograia, pero hasta hace poco solo han utilizado para prestar un telon de fondo y la documentacion para mis pinturas.  Recientemente, he conocido a fotografos que me han inspirado a ver esto como otra manera de espresar la memoria y la fragmentacion visual.
